In the Habitable Dialogue series, the figures overlap as their boundaries, defined by the contours of skin, intersect and permeate one another. Our skin serves as a confine, dividing the interior and exterior of the body while establishing the boundary of the self; at the same time, it functions as a membrane that allows touch and connection with others. This separative yet connective membrane reflects how the boundaries we construct can lead to a symptomatic sense of isolation deeply rooted within us, while still evoking a longing for contact.

Building on this exploration of boundaries, the floating resin surfaces act both as filters and barriers, mediating light into bubbling, organic penumbrae that engage with the wall behind. Light, lacking any tangible form, appears as an ephemeral apparition that dissolves completely when the power is turned off, embodying its immaterial nature. Yet this very quality enables it to transcend physical boundaries and merge with the surfaces of other entities. By revealing the permeability of these material surfaces, light abstracts physicality and extends the presence of images beyond and behind their surface.
